Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and you do not need to have everything figured out before taking it. I work with adults and couples navigating anxiety, difficult transitions, self-doubt, or relationships that feel stuck. My hope is that our time together feels honest, comfortable, and human—a space where the hard things are welcome, but there is still room to laugh. Together, we can slow things down, understand what may be happening beneath the surface, and find a steadier way forward that feels right for you. Whatever you are carrying, you do not have to carry it alone here.
My Story
Hello, I’m Karen. I work with adults and couples who want to better understand themselves and who are looking for a counselor who is both warm and honest. Many of the people I work with come in feeling anxious, worn down, unsure of their own worth, or caught in patterns that are difficult to change. My hope is that our work helps you feel more grounded, more connected to yourself, and less alone.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. In my work, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Together, we can explore the beliefs and patterns beneath the surface, build practical tools, and move at a pace that feels right for you.
As a Mexican immigrant and the daughter of Mexican immigrants, I grew up valuing education and financial security, while mental health was often surrounded by stigma and misunderstanding. Choosing counseling as a career took time, and that experience is part of why I care so deeply about making therapy feel approachable, human, and welcoming.
Outside of counseling, I am naturally social and warm and enjoy spending time with the people who matter most to me. I value connection, laughter, and the small moments that help life feel meaningful and grounded.

In our work together, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. We will look beyond what is happening on the surface, explore the beliefs and patterns underneath, and build practical tools you can use in everyday life. My goal is to create a space that feels honest, supportive, and human, with room for both difficult conversations and moments of humor, while moving at a pace that feels right for you and working toward changes that feel meaningful and true to who you are.
