My Story
Hi there! My name is Valerie, and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas.
I’m so glad you’re here. The first step toward feeling better is recognizing when your mind and heart are asking for help—and that step takes courage. I’m here to walk alongside you and help you uncover the strength you already carry within yourself. You never have to go through this alone.
A little about me: I began my career in education, spending fourteen years as a classroom teacher and later as a school counselor. Those years were filled with meaningful connections—with students, families, and colleagues—that deeply shaped my passion for helping others. I went on to earn my Master’s degree in School Counseling, which allowed me to further support students’ emotional well-being and create safe spaces for learning. My love for guiding and empowering others eventually led me to expand my work and become a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate.
In our sessions, you’ll have a safe, nonjudgmental space to share your story. Together, we’ll set goals that help you move toward the life you want. My approach is flexible, drawing from the techniques that best fit your needs. We may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to develop skills for coping with intense emotions and deepening your connection to yourself.
No matter your story, I will be in your corner—helping you find clarity, build resilience, and discover the strength to keep moving forward.
