Therapist

Sharol Mejia, LPC

I strive to create a warm and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and safe
exploring their experiences. Together, we work to better understand patterns, reconnect with
strengths, and notice the small moments of resilience and growth that can guide the healing
process. I am committed to creating a space where people from all backgrounds feel respected,
valued, and supported. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges
and move toward meaningful change.

"Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we’ll ever do." -Brené Brown

My Story

Hi, I’m Sharol! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I earned my
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word and my Master’s
degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. I am currently
pursuing my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at St. Mary’s University.

My clinical experience includes working in community mental health and school-based
counseling through local nonprofit organizations, where I supported children, adolescents, and
adults navigating grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and
major life transitions. I have also worked with individuals navigating relationship challenges
such as divorce, emotional abuse, domestic abuse, and the stress that can come with these
experiences.

My approach to therapy is integrative, collaborative, and strength-based. I tailor the therapeutic
process to each client’s unique needs while helping individuals reconnect with their strengths and
inner resilience. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed
care. I also enjoy incorporating expressive and creative elements into therapy, including
expressive arts and sand tray techniques, when they feel supportive and meaningful for clients.

As someone who grew up in an immigrant household, I deeply value the role that culture, family,
and lived experiences play in shaping our stories. I offer sessions in both English and Spanish
and am passionate about supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including members of
the Hispanic and Latino communities.

I especially enjoy working with women and adolescent girls who may be navigating identity,
relationships, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions. Therapy can be a supportive space to
slow down, explore your experiences, and reconnect with yourself. Sometimes healing begins
with the smallest moments of safety, connection, and hope, the “glimmers” that remind us
growth and healing are possible.
