About
Madyson Newberry
Welcome! In our time together, I aim to create a cozy, judgment-free zone where you can kick back, be yourself, and tackle whatever life’s throwing your way. We’ll work as a team to uncover and reframe those tricky thoughts and behaviors that aren’t serving you, all while exploring the deeper emotional patterns or unresolved conflicts that might be holding you back. Think of it as a mix of self-discovery, healing, and maybe even a few "aha" moments—let’s figure it out together!
"Self-exploration is the journey inward, where we face our wounds with compassion, understand our truth, and discover the power of healing has always been within us." -Unknown
My Story
Hi, I’m Madyson! I’m a counseling intern with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychoanalytic theory. Basically, I combine practical, evidence-based tools with a deeper dive into the “why” behind thoughts and behaviors to help you better understand yourself. My education journey has taken me from an associate’s degree in psychology at Northwest Vista to a bachelor’s at the University of Texas at Austin, and now I’m working on my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Mary’s University.
Growing up in a military family and being the first in my family to graduate college gave me a unique perspective on life. I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of big transitions, loss, and figuring out who you are. Those experiences taught me the importance of resilience, growth, and self-determination—values I bring into my work. My goal is to help you tap into your strengths, tackle the obstacles in your way, and build a life that truly aligns with your values and goals.
I’m passionate about continuing to develop my skills and deepening my understanding of the therapeutic process. I am excited to work together by getting to know you on your unique journey of healing. My goal is to support you in uncovering and embracing your most authentic self, while encouraging you to live a life that aligns with your true values and aspirations.
