About
Gabriela Alvarado, LMFT-A
'I am not what happened to me, I am who I choose to become.’ This quote is at the heart of my therapeutic approach: empowering people to rise above their past and actively shape their own futures. As an experienced systemic therapist, I specialize in helping individuals and families untangle complex relationship dynamics, strengthen communication, and build resilience. My goal is to create a nurturing and safe space where clients can dive deep into their experiences, forge healthier connections, and develop the tools they need to flourish.
“When writing the story of your life, don’t let anyone else hold the pen.” -Harley Davidson
My Story
Welcome! I'm Gabriela Alvarado, but you can call me Gaby. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate here in Texas. As a proud Latina and bilingual therapist, I bring a uniquely culturally sensitive perspective to our sessions. I understand firsthand the rich tapestry of strengths that diversity brings to both individual and collective growth in therapy.
My academic journey in this field began at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where I received a bachelor's degree in Marriage and Family Studies, and further flourished at Abilene Christian University where I earned my master's degree. With years of dedicated experience working with individuals, couples, and families, I've developed a special passion for assisting adolescents and young adults as they navigate the pivotal complexities of identity, relationships, and mental health.
I hold a deep-seated belief that we are all authors of our own life stories. Through a collaborative, strengths-based approach, I am committed to empowering you and your family to reclaim your narrative, guiding you through challenges and transitions to foster healing, resilience, and growth. Whether you are confronting relational difficulties, life transitions, or simply in pursuit of personal development, I am here to support your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment, helping you shape the person you want to become.
