Student Intern

Dominique Orr

Whether you're navigating grief, exploring your identity, working through family struggles, or just need someone who truly listens—I'm here to offer support with empathy and care. I'm passionate about helping people reconnect—whether that means healing as a family or rediscovering yourself as an individual. Life is meant to be enjoyed, but I understand that finding your path to happiness can feel overwhelming. Together, we’ll take it one step at a time.

“Never judge someone based on a single chapter of their story—you don’t know what they’ve been through or what led them down their path. Instead, offer compassion and grace, because everyone is working toward their own happy ending.”

My Story

Hey there! I’m Dominique Orr, and I’m so excited to get to know you during our time together at ABC Counseling. I’m a graduate student pursuing my Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling at Texas A&M University–San Antonio. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tarleton State University. My passion lies in helping individuals and families grow, heal, and thrive.

As a counseling intern, I bring compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to walking alongside my clients on their unique journeys. I believe self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a vital tool for building and maintaining healthy relationships and a meaningful life. My approach to counseling is rooted in Adlerian and Solution-Focused theories, seeing people as whole and capable, not defined by their struggles.

My path to becoming a counselor is deeply personal. Having navigated my own experiences with trauma and adversity, I understand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re just trying to hold it all together. That lived experience fuels my empathy, while my education gives me the tools to help others find their way back to a place where they can truly thrive.

I’m especially passionate about working with children and families, advocating for those whose voices often go unheard, and challenging the stigma surrounding mental health. I believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported—especially during life’s most confusing or painful moments. Healing is always possible, even when it doesn’t feel like it, and I’m here to be a safe space as you navigate that journey.
