Belinda Arriaga M.S. LMFT, renders her clients with empathetic support and encourages them to bring courage and mindfulness to their problems and goals. She believes that individuals have unique stories and as such, she tailors each session according to the clients’ specific needs.

My Story
Belinda Arriaga, a child of first-generation immigrants, has been exposed to diverse challenges of acculturation due to transitions and new environments. She is a bilingual and bicultural psychotherapist specializing in issues that affect individuals, couples, and families when generations within a household have contrasting cultural understandings and transitions. In her work with couples and families, she explores their cultural differences to find their strengths.
Belinda Arriaga is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic# 204073) in Texas. She received her bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a minor in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, California. She earned her Master of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Family, Couple, and Individual Psychotherapy, along with certification for Psychology Services for Spanish Speaking Populations, from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She also has specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Family Therapy Integrative Behavioral Health Training (FTIBHT).
Belinda has been a board member of the San Antonio Association of Relational Therapists since 2022, a member of PSI CHI, the International Society of Psychology, since 2018, a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy since 2017, and a member of the American Psychological Association since 2022.
She has experience working with children through play therapy, as well as with adolescents, couples, and families in refugee camps, crisis centers, homeless shelters, elementary and middle schools, and in private practice. She has interned at the Health Texas Clinic, Community Counseling Service, Haven for Hope, Driggers Elementary Counseling, and the Rape Crisis Center.
In addition, Belinda has extensive knowledge of immigration procedures and offers detailed and comprehensive immigration assessments for various immigration processes.
Belinda has experience working with cross-cultural issues, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, mental health diagnostics, grief, couples counseling, multigenerational family conflict, life transitions, and trauma within the framework of assessments and individual and family psychotherapy. Her approach is both relational and collaborative, utilizing techniques from evidence-based theories including solution-focused therapy, collaborative therapy, narrative therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
