Student Intern
Kennedie Martinez
Life isn’t always easy, and reaching out for support can feel intimidating—so I want you to know how proud I am of you for taking this first step. I believe that each of us sees the world through our own unique lens, shaped by our experiences and what we find meaningful. The beauty is that we also have the power to reshape those stories and reauthor them in ways that bring healing and growth. As your counselor, you won’t be walking this path alone—I’ll be right there with you, every step of the way.
“Life can be heavy if you carry it all at once. Know what to keep and what to release. Decide what is yours to hold and let all the other things go.” -Taylor Swift

My Story
Hi! I’m Kennedie, a counseling intern here at ABC Counseling Inc. I’m currently working on my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Mary’s University, and I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2023.
When I’m not studying or in session, you’ll probably find me reading a good book, enjoying the outdoors, getting in a workout or yoga session, or catching up on the latest in pop culture. These things keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of joy and balance—something I love helping clients discover for themselves, too.
I’m passionate about creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and truly yourself. I take a person-centered approach to counseling and like to incorporate narrative therapy and mindfulness techniques to help you explore your story, reconnect with your strengths, and navigate life’s ups and downs.
I’m always growing and learning as a counselor, and I’m excited to walk alongside you as you do the same. Let’s team up and work toward healing, growth, and all the good things life has to offer.
